Natalie Portman Cast In Thor!!

According to our sources, Star Wars alum, Natalie Portman has been cast in Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero film, Thor

Portman will play the role of Jane Foster, a nurse who became Thor's first love in the comics.

Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige is set to produce the film. Principal photography is set to begin on early 2010. Thor will hit theaters on May 20, 2011 under Paramount Picture.

I think Natalie Portman being cast in this film is simply awesome. The casting so far for this film shows a lot of potential, and I definitely have high hopes for this. I thought Chris Hemsworth was great in Star Trek, and Natalie Portman is without a doubt a great actress, and since Marvel has a lot of creative input on this, we can expect a great comic book film that actually stays true to the source material.

Chris Hemsworth Cast As Thor....

K, for those who don't know who Chris Hemsworth is, he played George Kirk in this year's summer hit, Star Trek.

According to our sources, Hemsworth has entered final negotiations to play the lead role in Marvel Studios' upcoming film, Thor. Marvel will be releasing an official statement soon, so stay tuned for that.

Hemsworth was supposedly spotted by a scouting agent in Australia and dragged him to Los Angeles to read for the part. Casting agents at first rejected him early on, but as soon as he his audition was put on tape, the casting agents started singing very different tunes. It was reported that Daniel Craig (Casino Royale) turned down the role, and Hemsworth beat out other candidates such as, Kevin McKidd (Rome), and Triple H (WWE).

Marvel supposedly wanted to finish the casting this month. The film has reportedly been pushed back from July 16, 2010 to March 20, 2011.

All I can say is, "thank god they didn't go with Triple H!!!" I am a big, huge fan of J.J Abrams' Star Trek, and I though Chris Hemsworth did absolutely great as George Kirk. Sure he only had minutes on screen, but that first scene was one of my favorite scenes in the movie! I think he would be great as Thor. I mean, just grow his hair and give him a beard, then voila, Thor!! And I got no doubt he's got the acting chops to play the role!

Deadpool Spin-Off Is Moving Forward...

According to our sources, 20th Century Fox is moving forward and currently developing "Deadpool", a spin-off from this year's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds is attached to reprise his role as "The Merc With a Mouth."

Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios will act as producers.

The studio is currently awaiting pitches from writers.

Apparently, the studio had considered the spin-off even during the filming of "Wolverine", which is why they casted Ryan Reynolds into the role.

I definitely thought Reynolds nailed the part. He was definitely a lot of fun to watch, even though he wasn't in the film for very long. I think Ryan Reynolds is the perfect choice for a comic book film. It should be interesting to see where they take the character for the spin-off. I wonder if they'll decide to use David S. Goyer's script.....

So does this mean that Gambit doesn't get his own film?

Eminem x Marvel: The Punisher

In light of Eminem's big return to hip-hop, XXL has teamed up with him and Marvel Comics to give you, "The Punisher." The first 8 pages of the story will be featured in XXL's June issue. The 8 remaining pages will be available for free at Marvel Digital Comics starting today!

This is definitely an interesting partnership in my opinion. To see an artist like Eminem team up with Marvel and be featured with one of their most famous characters is just awesome. It's definitely a new approach to add even more hyp to his album's release.

Don Cheadle To Play War Machine!

"This Is So Going In My Blog,"

According to our sources, actor, Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) is set to replace Terrence Howard in Iron Man 2. Howard played Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, Tony Stark's best friend, and future War Machine.

The reasons for the replacement have been unclear so far, but some are saying that Howard fell through due to financial differences, among other reasons of course.

Marvel, who had long wanted to work with Cheadle, decided to take the role in a different direction and approach Cheadle, who is currently filming, Brooklyn's Finest.

Iron Man 2 is set to be released on May 7, 2010. Jon Favreau will return as director, Downey Jr. as Iron Man, and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts.

I'm a little uneasy with this sudden replacement honestly. I thought Terrence Howard was an excellent choice for the role, and that he really nailed it. I'm not realy sure a out this move by Marvel. However, I do think that Don Cheadle is a great actor, and could possibly bring something new to the character.

Marvel VS. DC?! FIGHT!

Despite “The Dark Knight’s” praise from critics and summer moviegoers, Robert Downey Jr. admits he hated the film.

“My whole thing is that that I saw ‘The Dark Knight,’” Robert said in an interview with Movie Hole. “I'm like, 'That's not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.' I loved 'The Prestige' but didn't understand 'The Dark Knight'. Didn't get it, still can't tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character…”

Downey is currently starring in "Tropic Thunder," which knocked "Dark Knight" out of the top spot at this week's box office. He blames "Knight's" “highbrow” script for ruining the film, although he may be biased. The actor clearly has a favorite in the age-old Marvel vs. DC comic book debate.

“I'm like, 'I get it. This is so high-brow and so f---ing smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie,'” the actor ranted before adding, “You know what? F--- DC comics. That's all I have to say and that's where I'm really coming from.”

I found Iron Man a surprise... it was freakin good! But The Dark Knight for me, blew it outta the water!

How bout you guys?! Which do you prefer, Marvel or DC?! Comment!
