Wachowskis Offered Superman Trilogy...

For all those Superman fans like me out there that are wondering about the status of the next installment in the Superman franchise, let me fill you in.

Due to the lukewarm response of Superman Returns, and the mediocre box office returns, Warner Brothers has decided to reboot the franchise, and make the character darker, as well as introduce a new villain. WB had offered the reboot to Superman Returns director, Bryan Singer, but sources say that he has declined on helming the project.

Warner Bros. is hard at work at rebooting the franchise and is constantly looking for new directors who are capable to direct the film. They are looking for a director who can treat the character with respect, and who is a man of vision, just like The Dark Knight director, Christopher Nolan.

Our sources have revealed that WB has approached The Matrix directors, The Wachowski brothers about possibly directing a Superman trilogy. Up to this point, the Wachowskis were busy with a project for WB called, Plastic Man. But that project has been put on hold for now. If they decide to accept the Superman project, Bryan Singer will most likely provide them with second unit support, or take over the Plastic Man project.

Bryan Singer was quoted saying:

"the very thought of the brothers making a Superman movie is unbelievable as they have grown up in the world of comic books and they would be ideal for the project."

Sources are also saying that Superman Returns star, Brandon Routh will appear in the reboot.

I'm still sort of on the fence about this path that WB has decided to take. Sure, Superman Returns didn't make as much money as they had hoped, but I did feel that the movie was a success, and left plenty of room for improvement story-wise. Bryan Singer has proven himself with sequels, X2 was by far the best X-Men installment in the series. But then again, the Wachowskis are known for their unique visions, and awesome storytelling. If anyone were to reboot the franchise, then I think that they would actually be ideal. I believe that they'll treat the character with respect, and show the world a totally new point of view on the character!! I'd expect a lot of cool action sequences!

Smallville Back For A Ninth Season?

For all those die-hard Smallville fans like me out there, you guys might already know that the show is halfway into the 8th season, and has everyone wondering whether or not this season will be the last.

According to sources, whether or not a ninth season happens really comes down to the show's star, Tom Welling. His contract is set to expire this season, and everyone is just wondering what his future plans are. Has he outgrown his cape, or does he have one more season in him left?

Well for those who are hoping for another season, I've got good news for you all. According to our sources, Tom Welling is nearing a deal to return for a ninth season, they're just ironing out some minor details now.

Personally, before the 8th season began, I had hoped that this was the last. The Superman character is the one love of my childhood that I still carry with me now. And with the mediocre reception to Superman Returns, I just didn't want any more bad press for the character. And the 8th season was already at a bad start with actors Kristin Kreuk and Michael Rosenbaum leaving the show, as well as the creators. But then the 8th season began and ratings just shot through the roof! The stories became tighter, more Superman lore was introduced, fans just ate this up!! Fans roared for another season online, myself included! The 8th season is arguably the best season since the first for me!

Mark Whalberg Visits SNL

"This Is So Going In My Blog,"

So yesterday I posted the skit that SNL cast member, Andy Samberg performed on last week's SNL. And I also posted that according to some sources, actor Mark Whalberg had ill feelings about the skit. Well, let me update everyone by saying that these sources were, and let me quote Lex Luthor from Superman Returns, "WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNGG!!!!" Being the good sport that he is, Mark Whalberg visited SNL the following week and performed his own little skit, and I must say, it's freakin' hilarious!! Take my word for it and check the vid.

Valkyrie: Will You Go See It?

Valkyrie is the new hollywood film starring hollywood top dog Tom Cruise. This is a film based in the Hitler days, based on a true story. Looks interesting to me. Tom Cruise doesn't usually disappoint, unless we're talking about MI:3, so this should be a flick worth paying for to see.

At the absolute height of World War II, German generals hatch a daring plan to assassinate Adolf Hitler and effectively render the German war machine impotent. Directed by Bryan Singer(Superman Returns), Valkyrie stars Tom Cruise and was penned by writing partners Chris Mcquarrie and Nathan Alexander.~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
