Wachowskis Offered Superman Trilogy...

For all those Superman fans like me out there that are wondering about the status of the next installment in the Superman franchise, let me fill you in.

Due to the lukewarm response of Superman Returns, and the mediocre box office returns, Warner Brothers has decided to reboot the franchise, and make the character darker, as well as introduce a new villain. WB had offered the reboot to Superman Returns director, Bryan Singer, but sources say that he has declined on helming the project.

Warner Bros. is hard at work at rebooting the franchise and is constantly looking for new directors who are capable to direct the film. They are looking for a director who can treat the character with respect, and who is a man of vision, just like The Dark Knight director, Christopher Nolan.

Our sources have revealed that WB has approached The Matrix directors, The Wachowski brothers about possibly directing a Superman trilogy. Up to this point, the Wachowskis were busy with a project for WB called, Plastic Man. But that project has been put on hold for now. If they decide to accept the Superman project, Bryan Singer will most likely provide them with second unit support, or take over the Plastic Man project.

Bryan Singer was quoted saying:

"the very thought of the brothers making a Superman movie is unbelievable as they have grown up in the world of comic books and they would be ideal for the project."

Sources are also saying that Superman Returns star, Brandon Routh will appear in the reboot.

I'm still sort of on the fence about this path that WB has decided to take. Sure, Superman Returns didn't make as much money as they had hoped, but I did feel that the movie was a success, and left plenty of room for improvement story-wise. Bryan Singer has proven himself with sequels, X2 was by far the best X-Men installment in the series. But then again, the Wachowskis are known for their unique visions, and awesome storytelling. If anyone were to reboot the franchise, then I think that they would actually be ideal. I believe that they'll treat the character with respect, and show the world a totally new point of view on the character!! I'd expect a lot of cool action sequences!

What do you think? Comment!!

Terminator Salvation: Will You Go See It?

"This Is So Going In My Blog,"

Terminator Salvation is the fourth installment in the successful Terminator franchise, and is the first installment without Arnold Schwarzenegger. It stars Christian Bale (Batman Begins) as John Connor, Bryce Howard Dallas (Spider-Man 3) as Kate Connor, and Antony Yelchin as Kyle Reese. It's directed by Charlie's Angels director, McG. Filming began on May 5th, 2008, and is set to be released on May 22nd, 2009.

The movie is set in Post-apocalyptic 2018. John Connor, the one fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its terminators, meets a man named Marcus Wright, whose last memory was being on death row. John must determine whether Marcus was sent from the future, or saved from the past. Connor and Marcus both embark on a journey into the heart of skynet's operations, where they find out a secret that could ultimately wipe out the human race.

Teaser:

I honestly don't know what to think about this movie. I mean, I hate that Arnold isn't a part of it. Terminator is what it is because of him. BUT, there have been rumors that he might make an appearance, so that's better than nothing I guess. The teaser actually does look good tho...I Christian Bale is one of the most verstaile actors out there today, so it'll be interesting to see him as the iconic John Connor. Will I go see this? That is a definite YES! Opening day, I'm gonna go see it! Not cuz I think this movie will be awesome, but simply because I am a Terminator fan! And I'm really interested to see how they plan to incorporate Kyle Reese, the human who protected Sarah Connor in the original Terminator. McG was also quoted saying that, "this Terminator will sort of be like what Christopher Nolan did with Batman Begins. It'll be able to stand alone without the original films." Now cue the Terminator theme!
