Prince of Persia: Sands of time Poster

The first official Prince of Persia movie poster is here, with a shot of the leading lady I'm guessing... who's lookin hott! Prince of Persia aims to be one of next years summer blockbusters yet there hasn't been much or any promotional materials coming our way. Lets hope that this movie isn't another videogame movie gone wrong. The casting looks to be good and hopefully a teaser will prove that to us soon.

For those who don't already know the story, its based on the massively popular series of videogames, the story sees Gyllenhaal as a 'rogue prince' Dastan and Gemma Arterton as 'mysterious princess' Tamina, who reluctantly team up to safeguard an ancient dagger that could release the Sands of Time, allowing its possessor to reverse time and rule the world. Watch out for this on May 28, 2010!

ABC Debuts First Prince Of Persia Footage

Producer, Jerry Bruckheimer was recently featured in ABC's Movie Special, and he briefly spoke about next year's video game adaptation, Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time. Bruckheimer was also cool enough to release some footage of the upcoming film.

Prince Of Perisa stars Jake Gyllenhaal (The Day After Tomorrow), and is directed by Mike Newel (Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire).

Like I've said in the past, I'm still a little uneasy about Gyllenhaal's casting for the film. I mean, what is it about Hollywood and casting Americans in foreign roles? The movie's called "Prince Of PERSIA" for crying out loud. Although, Bruckheimer has given us some of the best movies of all time, so I do have a little faith in the man. So as always, I'll reserve my comments til I see more footage or a trailer.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time hits theaters May 28th, 2010.

New Prince Of Persia Pics!!!

The Huffington Post has posted two new pictures from Disney's upcoming video-game adaptation, Prince Of Perisa: Sands Of Time.

The movie stars Jake Gyllenhall (The Day After Tomorrow), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), and Ben Kingsley (Bloodrayne). Gyllenhaal plays Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina, a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.

The movie hits theaters May 28, 2010.

Here are the pics:

When the first photo of Gyllenhall leaked, I actually thought that the casting was done pretty good. He really looked like Dastan from the 2003 video game. Now when I loko at these pics, the thing that comes to mind, and actually bothering me is that Jake Gyllenhall don't look the least bit Persian. Now I know that this is gonna be a big Hollywood film, so they wouldn't even consider casting an unknown, but try to make it believable right? I wonder if he'll at least have a Persian accent in the film.

I'm not sure how many of you guys have actually played this game, but I have and I loved it! It was an awesome game....I played it everyday, and finished it in just a matter of days! Couldn't put the controller down, or get any homework done either. Hehe! So I'm interested to see how this movie will come out. Most video game based movies usually suck a*s, so I'm not keeping my hopes high, but the movie is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. You know, the dude who produced "The Pirates of the Carribean" trilogy, The "CSI" shows, "Bad Boys I and II", and many more! So this movie definitely sounds promising! I'll be back with more updates so stay tuned!
