CSI: Laurence Fishburne Replaces Grissom

Reports have confirmed that Laurence Fishburne (Matrix Franchise) has officially joined the cast of CSI: Las Vegas. CSI: LV is returning for their 10th season, and William Petersen who plays, "Gil Grissom" has decided to leave sometime this season. However, he will remain an executive producer, as well as continue to make as many guest appearances as needed. Another new edition to replace another CSI departure, Jorja Fox's, "Sara Sidle" is Lauren Lee Smith (Pathology).

The producers worked really hard to land Fishburne as he was their only choice. They were quoted saying, "He is a powerful and intense actor, with an incredible range." Fishburne was quoted saying, "look forward to a wonderful collaboration with the creative and talented team of such a successful and distinguished show."

Fishburne's character is decribed to have a secret that comes in the for of markers of a serial killer, which he keeps to himself. Lauren's character is decribed to be a non-conformist who joined law enforcement to rebel again her father, a psychiatrist.

I think Laurence Fishburne was an excellent choice. I seriously think he's got the acting chops to bring something new to the table, and add new dynamic to an already successful formula! I'm a huge fan of the show, and I'm excited to see how this season plays out!
