Dragon Ball: Will You Go See It?

"This Is So Going In My Blog,"

Dragon Ball is a Japanese Manga series created and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. It is the story of Son Goku from his childhood into old age as he trains and searches for seven mystical objects known as Dragon Balls, which are suppose to grant any wish.

In March 2002, 20th Century Fox acquired the rights to Dragon Ball to make a live action film. It was put to production immediately with Justin Chatwin (War Of The Worlds) as Goku, Chow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi, and James Marsters as Piccolo. Ben Ramsey will be writing the story, and Stephen Chow (Kung Fu hustle) directing. The film is scheduled to be released on April 8, 2009.

I was never really a fan of Dragon Ball. I mean, I knew it was popular cuz I had a bunch of friends who were into it. It sounds interesting, and I'm actually curious to see how a live action film of Dragon Ball would actually come out. I'm just afraid that this movie might just get a little too "hollywood." Stephen Chow is a very popular director from Hong Kong who directed Kung Fu Hustle, which I absolutley loved! It'll be interesting to see what he does with this film. As for the teaser, it doesn't really do its job in making me wanna go see this. The teaser actually looks stupid to me. Hopefully the theatrical trailers look better.

Will you go see it? Comment!
