NBA's Best Dressed (According to Kenny Smith)
Check out this article I bumped into at nba.com. In Kenny's words. .
"There it is. Look at Will's outfit right there. It's tailored just a little bit differently. That's a good look now. He knew what he was doing."
1970'S-WALT FRAZIER
"Clyde was that guy. I remember he had a spread in the New York Daily News that I still have in my scrapbook. From his clothes to his house and his Rolls Royce; he was the only guy driving a Rolls Royce back in the '70s the way that guys are wanting to do that now. I'll never forget. And he had the mirrors on the ceiling in his home and fur bed sheets. I remember like it was yesterday. Clyde was that dude."
1980'S- CHUCK DALY
"He was the first real guy to stop getting suits off the rack. Everybody was buying stuff off the rack, while he was getting all of his stuff custom made and you could see the different fit. Everybody was like 'Daly's suits fit a little bit different. Wow.' He was the first guy who was on national TV in custom suits on the sidelines."
1990'S- PAT RILEY
"The slicked-back hairstyle and Armani suits. He even made his own shirt collar. Nobody was wearing that round shirt collar and now it's called the Riley Collar. He started wearing a skinner tie knot. He created a whole fashion craze that guys used to emulate."
1990'S- ALLEN IVERSON
"A.I. for me is the guy who brought the hip-hop look to the league and made it acceptable. Nobody else could do that. He brought hip-hop to the NBA and he married them. He changed the way guys were dressing on the bench. And the cornrolls? To this day guys are wearing cornrolls even though he is not anymore."
2000's- LEBRON JAMES
"D-Wade almost had it, until he lost me about the last 2-3 months. Then LeBron James took it over. LeBron takes risks but he doesn't take it overboard. He does a good job of mixing it up, from stripes to plaid. He takes a few risks here and there, but not all the time."
