Metal Gear Solid Touch For The iPhone!

For all you Metal Gear Solid fans out there, this post is the post for you guys to check out!! Solid Snakes stealth kills his way to our very own Apple iPhones!!

But how does such a complicated game work on an iPhone? Well let me explain to you how the mechanics of this game works.

Controls:

Let's start by simply figuring out how to control Snake. When you start a mission for the very first time, you are given very detailed instructions that teach you how to aim and fire. It also explains health bars, your friends, your enemies, and even the rubber duckie that pops out every now and then.

Aim: Drag your finger.

Fire: Tap

Shoot Long Range: Pinch your fingers

As you progress through the missions, you will encounter all sorts of soldiers. Some will be friendly, and some will be deadly!! A little circle will appear at each soldier that will help you indicate which is which. Shooting at friendlies will decease your health. The environment is also very interactive. You can actually shoot oil barrels to blow up the baddies.

Graphics:

As expected from acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, the graphics on the iPhone are said to be very beautiful and breathtaking. Some even say that it looks as good as Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3!! Kojima maximized the power of the Blu-Ray for Metal Gear, and so he did the same with the iPhone. The graphics on this game can't get any better my friends.

Extras

This game is also loaded with special features in its "Special Menu."

There is a feature called "MG History" which actually gives you a background on the entire Metal Gear Solid storyline. The Metal Gear Solid franchise has been known for its focus on story, and its plot. So it was only fitting that such a feature was made available.

There is also a feature called "The Drebin Shop." In the game, depending on how well or poorly you perform, you will be able to collect Drebin points. With these points, you can head on over to The Drebin Shop and collect special items like wallpapers, which you can actually choose from 15 choices. The wallpapers will of course be all art and characters from Metal Gear Solid 4.

Verdict

This game is available at the App Store for a pricey price of $7.99. Now I know you're all wondering whether or not this game is worth that price. And my answer is YES. For fans of the series, I can tell you guys now that this game does not disappoint. This is by far the best game I have downloaded so far. With all the features that Kojima has decided to put in here, I believe that the price is justified. Metal Gear Solid Touch definitely gives us an opportunity to enjoy Solid Snake in a totally new light.

What do you think? Comment!!
