G.I. Joe Character Posters
I'm sure most of you have already heard or read here on VANTAGE that Paramout pictures will be releasing G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra this summer. It'll star Channing Tatum (Step Up) as Duke, Rachel Nichols (P2) as Scarlett, Dennis Quaid (Frequency) as General Hawk, and Ray Park (Star Wars: Episode I) as Snake Eyes. The film will be directed by Stephen Sommers (TheMummy).
What I find odd about this film is the total lack of marketing for it. Now I'm not sure if that's what the director and studio really have in mind, but I just feel that a teaser trailer should at least be released. We have however gotten a hold of promo shots and posters. But it's not like my inner-fanboy is jumping for joy over these. Hehehe!
Today we give you even more posters! The studio has released character posters for Duke, Ripcord, The Baroness, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, and Storm Shadow. Check out the posters below!
Duke (Channing Tatum)

Ripcord (Marlon Wayans)

The Baroness (Sienna Miller)

Scarlett (Rachel Nichols)

Snake Eyes (Ray Park)

Storm Shadow (Byung Hun Lee)

I honestly still don't know how I feel about this film. I mean, if I were to base my feelings on these posters, I would say that the film could actually be pretty good. I especially love what they've done with Snake Eyes, I think he looks excellent, and very modernized while still staying true to its roots. I think the casting isn't too bad. Dennis Quaid as General Hawk is excellent, Rachel Nichols as Scarlett is spot on, Channing Tatum as Duke is questionable in my opinion. The premise of the story does sound like its got potential, and Stephen Sommers as director doesn't sound too bad. But the decision as to whether or not I would go to see this opening day lies with its trailer. Until I see it, I'll keep my excitement to a minimum.
What do you think? Comment!!
