Lamborghini wants the green light on its Estoque concept

There have been several reports, as well as stories from the net indicating that Lambo wants to put its recently revealed 4-door into production. Now its all up to the people up top, which are the corporate heads of Volkswagen, that will have the final say.

The Estoque was revealed last month, along with several teaser shots before the car was unveiled to the public. The problem was, there was no engine under the bonnet, which led many to believe that this was all just some publicity stunt... another one of those concepts that will never be produced. I guess not.

According to the company's R&D chief Maurizio Reggiani, who confirmed to British weekly Autocar that the company is in the process of making a business case to the VW executive board. If approved, the Estoque could hit showrooms by late 2011 with a UK sticker quoted at around £150k, which lies in between the Gallardo's £135k British list price and the Murcielago's £220k.

With Lambo under Audi and Volks, choosing an engine suitable for such a beast is not a problem. V8's, V10's, turbo, bi-turbo, supercharged, take your pick. I know 2011 is still a long ways but something tells me that when this bull hits production, it wont be long til we see some corrupt Philippine politician have one sitting in his/her garage.
