Joe Johnston To Helm Captain America...
"This Is So Going In My Blog."
Marvel has signed director, Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park III) to take on the classic comic book character, Captain America. The film will be titled First Avenger: Captain America, and Kevin Feige is set to produce.
There have been no writers hired yet, but Marvel is hearing pitches as we speak, and should be hiring soon.
Kevin Feige speaks about Johnston saying:
"This is a guy who designed the vehicles for 'Star Wars,' who storyboarded the convoy action sequence for 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' " Feige said. "From 'Rocketeer' to 'October Sky' to 'The Wolfman,' you can look at pieces of his movies and see how they lead to this one."

Captain America is the alter ego of Steve Rogers, who is rejected by the army for being too sickly. He undergoes an experiment that leap frogs him to the peak of human potential, he is given an indestructible shield and becomes Captain America, a symbol of war in comic books.
He was created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon back in 1941 for Timely Comics.
The First Avenger: Captain America is set to be released on May 6, 2011. The setting of the film will be in World War II, but the character is also set to appear in a modern day setting for The Avengers.
I am definitely looking forward to this film. this is Captain America. The original avenger, and the leader of the pack. It will be interesting to see where Marvel Studios decides to go with this character. I think this film is the perfect set up for Marvel's awaited Avengers.
